The Motels music was pretty much new wave not really pop (only a couple of tracks from sounded typically from the tacky side of the 80's) but most of the tracks sounded a bit more to the artistic side with some hints of post punk/5(26).

This is easily the best Motels CD. Martha Davis's vocals are somewhat subdued and the music is more stark on this CD compared to the more lavish later albums, and it has an edge that the later albums lack. Martha as always is alternately pouty, sexy, even at times tragic. The dark and understated Celia is incredible as is the plaintive Total /5(12).

Kix with there selftitled debut album "Kix", back in the day when the glam metal scene was young and about to explode with bands like: Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Helix, Black n Blue, Quiet Riot, and Hanio Rocks on the rise, Kix defintly had there own style of glam metal they were very unique, though they were young an unknown they were on the verge of making it big.
